- Associate Veterinarian/Internal Medicine (LA)         [ Email ]

Licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania
Kate was born in the UK, but moved with her family to Indiana at a young age and grew up in the Midwest. While growing up, she rode Quarter Horses and competed in 4H and open shows in every event available, from showmanship to barrel racing with one of her two horses. She still has her barrel horse Ginger, who she began riding in fifth grade. After graduating high school, Kate attended Purdue University and obtained a Bachelorís degree in Animal Sciences in 2005. From there, she remained a Boilermaker while completing her DVM.  She graduated the second time from Purdue in 2010 and then moved south to Florida, where Kate completed an internship at AVS Equine Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. During her internship, she found her passion for critical care cases and neonatal medicine. Following completion of her internship, Kate moved back to the Midwest to pursue a large animal internal medicine residency at Iowa State University. She became board certified in internal medicine in 2014, and stayed on as faculty at Iowa State for the next year. Her husband, a small animal veterinarian, moved to New Jersey last summer- and Kate is excited to now be living full time on the East Coast with him, their two dogs, cat, and horse. Kate is most interested in complicated medical cases, including gastrointestinal disease, chronic weight loss, respiratory and neurologic disease, and neonatology- but is always happy to be working with horses! In her free time, Kate enjoys spending time with her husband and their furry children, cooking, travelling, reading, riding her horse and running.
